MULTI-FOCAL RETINAL DYSPLASIA  (MRD)
This  a defective development of the retina with multiple linear
Folding of the sensory retina, mild forms of retina folds very rarely cause blindness, but, the more severe lesions are associated with varying degree's of impairment to sight.

                         PRIMARY GLAUCOMA (G)
Glaucoma is the term used to describe an increased fluid pressure within the eye itself, resulting  in ocular damage and loss of sight, the pressure increases because the fluid cannot drain away from the eye                                                                                                                             at the junction of the cornea and the iris.
Gonioscopy is a technique used to evaluate this drainage angle, it
Involves placing a dome shaped contact lens, otherwise known as a goniolens, on the corneal surface after numbing the cornea with
anaestetic drops, Primary glaucoma is know to accur in American Cockers due to a developmental abnormality of the drainage angle call goniodygenesis.

                     HEREDITARY CATARACT (HC)
Cataract is opacity of the lens, and can be a problem for young adults of 6 months to 4 years.
The lens changes and looks cloudy, this may occur in one if not both eyes and is extremely variable, therefore any cataract detected in this breed must be regarded as possible hereditary.
Quite often the cataract progresses to some visual impairment and sometime in very severe cases blindness.
